La empresa fue fundada por Luís Berneda el año 1939 en San Baudilio de Llobregat, con el nombre inicial de Berneda, fabricante de calzado para rugby, fútbol sala, balonmano y boxeo, entre otros deportes.  En 1964 refundaron la marca con la inclusión de su símbolo más característico, la X, y el cambio de nombre, Berneda por Munich. De diseño italiano e inspiración en la tecnología alemana, de donde surgió el nombre, la fabricación siguió siendo española. La marca se consolidó como referente en deporte.

 

The company was founded by Luís Berneda in year 1939 at the Catalan city of Sant Boi de Llobregat, with the initial company name Berneda, manufacturer of shoes for rugby football, futsal, handball and boxing, among other sports.  In 1964 they added the characteristic "X" symbol and changed the company and brand name from "Berneda" to "Munich". The production remained Spanish, with design and technology influences from Italy and Germany. The brand became popular.
